16. Franklin Clinton - GTA V

It's a shame that one of the most colourful games in the GTA franchise features its most boring protagonist. Franklin is the straight man of the game's leading trio, appearing to be both calmer and less troubled than either Michael or Trevor. He is supposedly set apart by his strong sense of ambition, but aren't all Grand Theft Auto protagonists power-hungry to a degree? Another major downfall of Franklin's is his dialogue. Although played admirably by Shawn Fonteno, his lines largely consist of "low-level gangbanger in over his head" clichés, all peppered with liberal use of the n-word. Very liberal, almost to the point where it seems as though the writer was a white guy trying to seem black. Hmm...
