Here is another game based on another niche sport. Surprisingly, there is an actual official truck racing championship and just because it exists, that's enough to make a video game based off it.

Trucks are fun to drive in games - that is, if you can smash them into zombies or re-enact Road Warrior. Racing them against each other in a fairly vanilla racing game? Likely not to have the same mass appeal.
