Everything We Know About 2018's Most Mysterious Video Games
8. Days Gone
Two E3s have passed since Days Gone's unveiling, but we're still left stumbling around in the dark as to what it's all about. Yes, there's lots of zom... sorry, 'Freakers' to mow down, but as we all know, the appeal of that can only carry a game so far in an undead-saturated industry such as this. We need substance.
Paris Games Week was one of the venues where Sony was expected to show more of the open world survival horror off, but it was nowhere to be seen, feeding the persisting air of suspicion that Days Gone's absence boils down to Sony not wanting to fill its line-up with zombie horrors, especially with The Last of Us Part II on the horizon.
Judging by the most recent snippet of gameplay, crafting, exploration, and oh-so-morally-grey choices are the order of the day here, but will each component offer enough variety as to keep it from sinking into mediocrity? We'll see, but Sony's seeming reluctance to speak openly about Days Gone doesn't exactly fill us with confidence.
Deacon St. John's struggle for survival could be over before its even begun.
