Everything We Know About 2018's Most Mysterious Video Games
1. Final Fantasy VII Remake
Since 2015, fans have had ample time to let Final Fantasy VII Remake's announcement sink in, to the point where anticipation levels are dangerously close to dropping off a cliff, what with the little information that's been coughed up since.
So what gives? As far as Square Enix and the rest of the world is concerned, Cloud and Co.'s return will be here at any point from 2018 onwards. There's every chance it could slip into 2019 or, God forbid, 2020 territory, but even so, Square's now had two years plus to work on the game - more than enough time to reveal some additional details.
Somewhat recent morsels of information provided by the remake's director Tetsuya Nomura touched upon some of the features Cloud lovers can expect to see, including destructible environments and stealth mechanics, but those were accompanied, not by a real-time demo, but a lone screenshot depicting Cloud's memorable run-in with the Guard Scorpion.
Until the time comes when Nomura and Sony are ready to spill the beans on Final Fantasy VII's episodic resurrection, we'll have no choice but to watch that PSX 2015 clip on repeat.
