Everything We Know So Far About The Last Guardian

1. Despite Delays, Nothing Has Changed

Given how much time has passed since The Last Guardian was announced, and taking into account all the behind the scenes shake ups that occurred within that time, you'd be forgiven for being skeptical about the game.

The big question then is: How much has changed over the years?

Surprisingly, not much. Sony and Team ICO have said that the delays have had no impact on their ability and determination to stay true to director Fumito Ueda's vision. Even with his leave from the studio, Ueda oversaw development and contributed creatively as an outside source. If anything, the constant delays were a result of the studios doing everything they could to make the best version of The Last Guardian with as little compromise as possible.

Part of that meant the transition to the Playstation 4, which allows the game to have improved graphics, physics, and animations, but with little to no change to the core game design, which is virtually identical to what was shown on the PS3 in 2009.

So if you're one of those who have been patiently waiting for The Last Guardian, you can be rest assured that when you finally get your hands on this long awaited game, it will be the one you were promised, but better optimized for the demands of this generation. Whether that means The Last Guardian will have been worth the wait remains to be seen, and we thankfully won't have to wait much longer to find out.
