Fallout 4: 10 Best Fan-Demands That Must Be Included
9. A Staggeringly Vast Colour Palette
Bit of an understated thing to address, but overall colour palettes and environmental work counts for a lot in gaming - and although certain readers will be screaming "But it's a wasteland!", the fact remains that the world of Fallout is so barren and uninviting it can blur over into simply being off-putting to new players. Many fans have commented on the game's aesthetic being comprised seemingly primarily of greys and especially browns, and therein lies the rub; for all that immersion within the context of a post-apocalyptic wasteland is key, games like The Last of Us or Avalanche's new Mad Max show it's possible whilst keeping colour and variation in the world. Even something like the recently-released Bloodborne is getting flak for essentially being a sea of grey in every screenshot, and as much as F4 shouldn't suddenly turn into a desert landscape as colourful as something like Jak 3's; all the same it needs to get away from the feeling of "seen this before" that F3 had after a few hours.
