3. If Third Person Is Ditched, The Same Or Revamped
Something that goes hand-in-hand with fleshing out the character side of things is to shine a light on them at all times - the main point being; are we going to reliably play in third person this time round? Like many 'third person' options of the 2000s, Fallout 3's and New Vegas' essentially amounted to just hanging the camera behind the player as the whole thing continued to play as though nothing had changed. It felt like a mod, and wasn't a very pleasant experience - and aside from seeing who you are and what you were wearing, was never preferable to remaining in first. All that could change however, with a dedicated third-person mode. One that offers cover-based options, refined animation and a general 'feel' that separates it from the established standard. Dedicating so many assets to how you're not "supposed" to play may anger some fans, but you can't deny it would bring it a huge number of players, as quite simply some gamers just aren't fond of more first-person experiences.
