Fallout 4: 10 Great Open World Games It Must Learn From

10. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

What better place to start than with Bethesda's latest full addition to one of their huge franchises? Skyrim represented one of 2011's biggest titles and is a game that convinces players to dust off their previous generation consoles to dive back into the fjords to this day. The fact that it found so much scope to improve on its predecessor is remarkable, and surely has to inform Bethesda's work on perfecting their other huge series. Apart from adding their obvious advancements in world-building, character progression and combat to part four, Bethesda should be daring enough to attempt a conversion of one of Skyrim's most memorable mechanics; dragon battles. Obviously dragons have no place in a Fallout game, but the style of Skyrim's sky-filling encounters could hold the blueprint for making the wasteland more dangerous than ever. With the lore and history of these games already boasting some remarkably terrifying creatures and creations, mutated beasts that could take to the sky would add an extra layer of danger to traversing the post-apocalyptic wilds. That's not to out n' out say flying Deathclaws, but... you get the picture!
