Fallout 4: 10 Majorly Overlooked Features That Will Be Amazing

6. A Semi-Decent 'Climbing' System

The term 'Skyrimming your way up something' came from the awkward jump-move-jump shuffle we all did in 2011's game, whereby you sort of rub against a surface whilst jamming the jump button like a gibbon; the end result being to finally get up to the place you were trying all along. Skyrim did have a jump button, all things considered, but the interaction between Dovahkiin and the world just wasn't the most polished. There's nothing worse than awkwardly fumbling around trying to get over a knee-high wall, and as we've seen in many instances of gameplay, F4 gives us a jetpack - obviously meaning verticality has been a talking point. I'd therefore assume - and it's crazy to celebrate such a basic thing - that we're getting a range of mantling animations for surmounting surfaces and possibly climbing. Either way the new game engine is far more robust than Skyrim's, and that will surely extend to basic environmental interaction.
