Fallout 4: 10 Majorly Overlooked Features That Will Be Amazing

5. The New Dialogue System

Not anywhere near enough praise has been thrown Bethesda's way for revamping one of the most core features from any RPG; the dialogue system. Instead, quite the opposite, as plenty fans are lamenting the idea of a talking protagonist - assuming this will ruin the whole "It's your adventure" appeal of the franchise. I can't see that being the case, considering how successfully Mass Effect has been at using voiced protagonists and facial customisation to give all of us our own story. That series' conversations are always thoroughly engaging too, and when you think about how many lines of speech are in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, being able to talk them all through should be pretty engaging. The big killer for many open-world titles is repeated dialogue either from NPCs or through specific conversations, and if that can be alleviated by ensuring every line-read is professionally delivered, it's great news all-round.
