2. A Stronger Engine

00353 While I don't play Fallout for the graphics and a lack of improvement upon the graphics would not keep me from investing in Fallout 4, I would still enjoy seeing a bounding leap forward in graphics and physics. There has been speculation in the time since the Creation engine (used for Skyrim) was released that it will be used in Fallout 4. If this is the case, we can only hope that Skyrim served as a test run for the Creation engine, and that Bethesda will improve upon it more. Can you imagine how amazing it would be to have CryEngine 2-esque graphics in the Fallout universe? Yeah, just sit there and drool over the thought of that Super Mutant's head exploding. You know you want it. But for physics, the main change I would really like to see is that when you are running, you no longer have those huge, gazelle-like leaps and perhaps the Creation engine will do as much for Fallout. Let us also hope that the first release doesn't have all of the glitches that New Vegas did upon official release. The Creation engine has only had a single iteration so far, so it's fairly safe to say that they're going to be using it for Fallout 4, as opposed to the prior and outdated engine, Gamebryo. With this, though, it is very likely that the game will be designed primarily with NextGen consoles in mind (PS4, Xbox One and PC) but still be released on PS3 and 360, and while this may mean waiting a few months longer, it also means that theoretically we will end up with a better product. Isn't it worth waiting, even if we don't want to?
