5. Sound Design
Think of Skyrim, and not long after picturing the Dragonborn in all his horn-headed glory, you'll remember the impeccable score that backs every part of the experience. From level-up soundbites that thousands of us then had as our ringtones (don't judge, it's epic) to the fantastic crowd-chanted theme that just made you want get stuck in and explore every facet of the realm itself, Bethesda knocked it out the park. For Fallout - and you can totally scream "But it's the apocalypse!" as a counterpoint here - it could do with having a backing score that accentuates everything else you're doing. Even in its most desolate and war-torn moments, The Witcher 3 slowly drips in all sorts of gorgeously composed pieces that compliment what you're witnessing as you travel on through. Fallout's launch trailer had a fairly generic (yet rousing) score behind it, but it wasn't anything you were drawn in by as much as the events on screen. To that end, let's have a signature auditory element for Fallout other than the "War. War never changes" sound bite. It can only help with the immersion and enjoyment along the way, surely?.
