Fallout 4: 10 Things It Did Better Than EVERY Other RPG

4. Companions You Actually Care About & Need To Work With

There may have been a lot of jokes flying around about Fallout 4's companions, but that doesn’t mean that there aren't a great selection of other allies, each with their own backstories, morals and witty banter.

Companions in Fallout 4 come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some may be found in need of help. Others may be part of a faction, and you may have to take care of them later if they disagree with your process. Whereas, one important companion may just find you and be a very good boy.

Most companions have a backstory. This could lead to a reason for their personality, or opening up about an issue they are struggling with. These companions will need to trust you before they give you their life story though. Through events and visiting different locations, they may offer personal feelings on a situation or give an insight into their past.

All the companions in Fallout 4 feel unique and aren’t just copy and pasted grunts for you to throw into battle. You may find yourself getting attached to these characters, something that other RPGs often struggle to do.
