As was also a problem in September's Metal Gear Solid V, FO4 just doesn't have a particularly impressive variety of quest types. Yes, there's an entertaining mission where you explore some memories and a couple of quests that stick out, but the backbone of the game is governed by fetch quests, wild goose chases and the inevitable "clear a huge building of every enemy" missions. Improved (if still heavily flawed) gunplay softens the blow a bit, but even so, it just doesn't seem very inspired or imaginative. Where are the ambitious set-pieces which might make the fairly standard story feel more involving?
