6. Full Voice Acting Is Decent But Unnecessary

One of the more divisive additions to Fallout 4 is the fact that the entire game has a full voice cast, which some feared could result in a more trimmed-down narrative, or that it might rob the player of the opportunity to impose their own personality on their protagonist. Critics seem similarly divided on it, in that while most praise the acting itself and its function (PC Gamer said, "Having a voiced protagonist gave me a greater sense of attachment to the world, and particularly to the companions"), there's also the feeling among many that it didn't really add enough to the experience to be worth the clear effort invested in it. IGN commented, "I frankly don€™t feel like it added much beyond the convenience of not having to read as much text when playing from the couch." So, no, full voice acting is not an Earth-shattering refinement, in case you were wondering, but given how the game falls down in a number of key areas, it's a shame more time wasn't devoted to that rather than this.
