Fallout 4: 15 Ultimate Wishlist Features It Must Have
7. Survival Mode
Fallout New Vegas made an attempt at a hardcore mode, placing an emphasis on survival, in which players would suffer from dehydration, starvation and exhaustion. The purpose was to test the players ability to survive in the harsh conditions of the Mojave wastelands, and while it was a fair attempt, it simply did not go far enough. For those gamers who want the challenge, this mode should still be optional, and the wasteland should be completely unforgiving. A mode where the player must set up camps, hunt for food, search desperately for water is after all not something that has been widely done, and it fits with the overall agenda of the franchise. The popularity of survival simulators show that there is an market for this style of game: Day Z, Rust and Don't Starve all base their gameplay upon survival and all have enjoyed success. Fallout should include a mode for users who want the ultimate test, not only competing against the hordes of death claws and raiders, but simultaneously clamouring for water or even some way of avoiding the heat of the day. The modding community of Fallout games is very strong, and survival modes are huge part of that, so there is already a wealth of information on how Bethesda could make the mode work within Fallout 4 already.
