Fallout 4: 7 Huge DLC Rumors And Possible Locations
5. Something Lovecraftian
There's a reasonable smattering of references to legendary cosmic horror author H.P. Lovecraft throughout the Fallout series. The Dunwich Building in Fallout 3, for example, is named after the Lovecraft short story The Dunwich Horror, and is home to a mysterious altar dedicated to Lovecraftian-sounding God called Ug-Qualtoth. Then, in the Point Lookout DLC, you investigate a cult that seems to have connections to Ug-Qualtoth, and get your hands on an eerie tome called the Krivbeknih that you can then burn at the altar. The biggest Lovecraftian murmurings in Fallout 4 happen at a quarry called Dunwich Borers, where you experience strange hallucinations of cultist gatherings and other pre-war events before discovering an altar with a savage-looking blade on it called Kremvh's Tooth (which looks like it's dropped into the Fallout universe via a wayward wormhole from Bloodborne). With Lovecraft being a New England native, and with many of his stories taking place in the area, it'd be great for Fallout 4 DLC to delve deeper into this Lovecraft connection. One DLC quest could see you uncovering a cult dedicated to Ug-Qualtoth that's still active in the Boston Wasteland, perhaps eventually leading us to Lovecraft's home city...
