Fallout 4: 7 Mods That Turn It Into A Realistic Survival Game

1. Make Radiation More Dangerous

Download Deadly RadstormsDownload all ABOUT RADIATION damageDownload True StormsDownload Fat Man Radiation Hazard The radiation system in Fallout 4 is decent, as your maximum health gets incrementally reduced the more radiation your body absorbs, but unless for some crazy reason you're gallivanting naked around the Glowing Sea, then it rarely becomes a serious threat to your health. That hardly makes this supposed post-nuclear wasteland a very menacing place. First of all, download the Deadly Radstorms mod, which lets you manually increase the radiation damage received from Radstorms, and the regularity with which they happen. Combine that with the all ABOUT RADIATION mod, which increases radiation damage from irradiated explosions, enemies, food and the glowing sea, then chuck in the Fat Man Radiation Hazard to make the Fat Man missiles leave behind a 30-second nuclear fallout in its blast radius. To top off making radiation more of a threat, get the True Storms mod. This is not only the best mod out there for improving weather effects, graphics and variety, but also increases radiation in the Glowing Sea, and throws in a new 'radiation rain' weather condition, which comes in both heavy and light flavours.
