Fallout 4: 9 Insane Character Builds You Need To Try

1. The Lone Wanderer

You're Clint Eastwood. You're Strider. You're the ultimate loner, and don't need anything other than your own stellar survival skills when traversing the wasteland. Relationships, conversations and romance (you hate the word) are a social and emotional burden that are a potentially life-threatening distraction.

In what's probably the most all-round Fallout 4 build in this list, the Lone Wanderer needs a bit of everything, but with a particular focus on Strength, Endurance and Perception, where you'll want to channel a fair few points into Gunslinger and Commando to be proficient at delivering damage without anyone's help.

Grab the Strong Back perk unless you want to be infuriated by over-regular trips to offload your inventory, and make sure your Hacker and Locksmith perks are at a decent level, because there'll be no one around to do it for you. Most importantly, have a few points in Charisma so you can get your namesake perk, Lone Wanderer, which improves your durability, damage and carrying capacity.

Essential SPECIAL stats: 6 Strength, 3 Endurance, 4 Perception, 3 Charisma, 2 Agility, 4 Intelligence Essential perks: Lone Wanderer, Gunslinger, Commando, Strong Back, Locksmith, Hacker
