Fallout 4 Leak: 10 Reasons 'Hardcore Fans' Need To Stop Complaining
2. The New Colour Scheme/Brightness Tells A Story Right Away
Whilst I'm not going to delve into the whys and wherefores of Fallout's entire history (we have a handy guide for that), it's worth addressing how many fans state they want more of how Fallout 3 looked i.e. a dilapidated, downtrodden wasteland that embodied the most stereotypical version of its namesake. Forget such nonsense , because immediately we can tell from any of the shots out there that Fallout 4 takes place a considerable amount of time after the last. Humanity aren't on the brink any more, Bethesda aren't channeling Mad Max in their continued portrayal of ragtag townships and armoured scavengers - it's a game that immediately carves out its own place in the timeline. Projects like Fallout 4 need to have visual identities, they need to take risks with their canon to push things forward in new and inventive ways. Depending on how Fallout does over the course of the following year it's going to dictate how other Fallout products go, but would you rather have this game paint a brighter picture and expand the spectrum of what's possible, or continually deliver sequels in a mould that's been done to death?
