Fallout 5: 10 Biggest Items Fans NEED To See
3. Focus On Single Player
It is not controversial to say that Fallout 76 sucked. While the game undoubtedly included some interesting concepts and ideas, the overall execution of the online action RPG was plagued with bugs, issues, and controversies.
But even then the main issue with 76 wasn't the execution (though it was still a problem) it was the concept. The fact is that people didn't want a multiplayer Fallout as much as they wanted a new single-player entry into the franchise so unless 76 massively exceeded expectations it was bound to let a large segment of the fanbase down.
Don't just take my word for it though. Despite a monumental marketing campaign, 2019 figures show that Fallout 76 sales pale in comparison to the single-player games, even when taking into consideration the amount of time that they have been released for.
Not that there's anything wrong with the existence of Fallout 76, but for the series to really return to form, the next instalment must be solely focused on delivering the immersive single-player experience that brought the series to prominence in the first place.
