9. It Won't Be New Vegas 2

Despite rumours that hit the web in 2016, Obsidian, the makers of Fallout: New Vegas, are not working on a new game in the series.

Reported to be developing either a sequel to their original game or a brand new spin-off subtitled New Orleans, the company squashed rumours by saying that although they'd love to return to the franchise, they currently have their hands full with their own properties.

Despite the love that players still have for Obsidian's entry into the Fallout series (most of whom would even prefer them to be in charge instead of Bethesda), the publisher doesn't seem to be interested in spin-offs at the moment.

Likewise, Bethesda are fine with using the intervening years to build hype and leave fans hanging in anticipation of a new main release.
