Bethesda has always taken criticism for their outdated game engine. Running like garbage on consoles and hardly setting the benchmark for graphical fidelity even on PC, the engine that the company has been using for its releases since Morrowind might finally be getting overhauled completely for the developer's upcoming titles.

Job listings have indicated that the publisher is looking for someone to work intimately on their game engine, with the aim to improve their in-house technology and make their new games actually look like modern releases for a change.

Furthermore, the listing seems to be in line with what Todd Howard has said about the next Elder Scrolls, particularly the fact that his vision for the game exceeds the capabilities of current gaming technology.

With a new generation of consoles in mind and a new engine on the horizon, Fallout 5 will undoubtedly benefit from this upgraded technology.
