Fallout 5 Wishlist: 10 Things Fans Need To See
4. More Connectivity To Previous Games
Since its soft reboot in 2008 each new entry in the Fallout series has been its own self-contained creature. Despite featuring some small references here and there and a couple of easter eggs to appease the fans, with each new instalment Bethesda prefers to wipe the slate clean rather than carry on an encompassing narrative.
Which, in all fairness, does open up potentially infinite possibilities for the developers to pursue when creating each title in a way that, say, the Mass Effect series is unable to.
But, having some form of inter-connectivity between games would be a great way to make this world feel more alive and part of a much larger whole.
Having certain actions you performed in previous games affect your experiences in future titles would be an enjoyable and personal way to connect these dots together, while even just more direct references to previous events in dialogue could aid in explaining why certain factions are acting in contrary to how they've previously been characterised.
Not everything has to be connected, but just making this world feel more coherent would go a long way in making players feel like they're part of this universe overall.
