Fallout 5 Wishlist: 8 Biggest Changes That MUST Happen

5. Rolling Out On A New Engine

Fallout 5
Bethesda

It's no big secret that Fallout games look outdated by today's standard. What was once the norm for big titles like this and Elder Scrolls has now been outdone by other massive, open world games. The Outer Worlds has added more variety with its space setting, whilst recent Kojima offering Death Stranding has shown the rich detail a newer engine can provide.

Thankfully, our prayers might have been answered, as Bethesda Montreal have recently hired a new engine programmer. No new has been announced as to whether it'll be a new engine completely, but something needs a shakeup.

Unlike say, Red Dead Redemption or Days Gone, in which the worlds were part of the experience, Fallout environments have largely been indiscriminate space, save for the areas you need to be. It would be nice to take in the scenery, which hopefully a new engine/overhaul could provide.

Imagine the scope a Fallout game could have, especially if a new locale is used and we don't just get a spruced up palette of brown and grey.
