Fallout 5 Wishlist: 8 Rumours We Want To Come True

4. You Won't Be Leaving The United States

Rumours of the Fallout universe expanding beyond the United States have always circulated around the time of a new release. Be it hopes that DLC and expansions might whisk players off to foreign lands or that entire whole games taking place outside of America, there seems to be an urge from some fans to see the wider post-apocalyptic world of the Fallout series.

But while learning about other cultures might be cool, Fallout will probably never leave the shores of the USA. The series itself is so deeply entrenched in ideas of '50s Americana that shifting the setting so radically would completely strip the franchise of its distinctive personality.

It's clear that Bethesda understands the appeal of this aesthetic too, and the fact that their games barely mention anywhere outside of the States seems to indicate that they have no interest in moving the franchise away from the American wasteland it calls home.
