Fallout 76: 10 Reasons It Failed

5. It's Too Boring

Although Fallout 76 may have a pretty big world, everything inside of it is boring.

This is especially weird when you consider that every Fallout game beforehand was anything but boring. Exploring a post-apocalyptic world and shooting deadly mutants should be great, but it falls completely flat here.

The main problem is the missions. Every single one falls into the typical MMO trapping of either being a fetch quest or going somewhere to kill something. No characters to connect to, no memorable locations and no real advancement of anything.

If Fallout 76 had some sort of plot to work towards then there might be some excitement to be had, but it's completely barebones here. Past games haven't had the most riveting main stories, but that's where side-quests came in, and Fallout 76 does little to distinguish the two.

The only saving grace with Fallout 76 is the fact that you can play it with friends, and even that isn't really done right.

Jumping through portals, swinging through cities, destroying beings made of darkness and occasionally shooting a gun or two. I also write about games.
