Fallout 76: 6 Important Trailer Clues You Totally Missed

4. Backpack And Tattered Hat

Most of the trailer shows a clean and pristine vault, suggesting that the game begins in an untouched vault as Fallout 3 did. It shows us our best look so far at how a vault functioned - there is a bedroom with posters, books and games, and a working TV and terminal.

However on the bed shown at the beginning there is a clearly tattered backpack and hat, similar to the type settlers and provisioners could have in Fallout 4. This shows that the inhabitants of the vault,, only one of which is actually shown in the trailer, have actually ventured into the Wasteland prior to the game.

Perhaps that's where they are, because the place sure looks bare.

When vaults are present in Fallout games, typically they are a place you start from and never look back. What's interesting about this mix of Wasteland clothes and a vault setting is that the two could be interchangeable. This makes sense with rumours that Fallout 76 is an online survival game, similar in many ways to an MMO - maybe the vault functions as the hub of the game, or a safe zone.

I'm based in the UK, looking to make a career out of writing about entertainment and culture. The only thing I like as much as watching films, playing games or listening to music is enjoying as much hummus and crisps as I can while I do so. My favourite film is Eddie the Eagle and I like any game that lets me wander around beautiful worlds (or eat hummus and crisps).
