Fallout 76: 8 Details That Have Us Worried
6. Battle Royale
To make things perfectly clear, there has been absolutely no confirmation regarding a battle royale-style experience present in the upcoming Fallout 76. Tons of misinformation regarding this topic has already spread across the internet, and, despite whatever the mob of clickbait-eager YouTubers may be claiming, nothing has been set in stone.
When asked about Fallout's potential foray into Battle Royale earlier this year, Todd Howard seemed disinterested and non-committal. Bethesda, for the most part, tends to stray from the industry trend-chasing pack, and such a contrived inclusion, despite the rampant popularity of games like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, would come across as a punch in the gut to most consumers.
The inclusion of a battle royale mode would be a total affront in the eyes of many series veterans, and it would seem like a bizarre move on top of the already shaky ground on which Fallout 76 currently seems to be standing. The Fallout universe may be perfect for a set of lone desperadoes desperately duking it out for survival. However, this sort of atmosphere seems to betray the very core of Fallout's personal, narrative driven experiences. For many, a battle royale mode in Fallout would be a tough sell.
