Fallout 76: 8 Details That Have Us Worried
1. Online Only
Despite assurances from Todd Howard that Fallout 76 will be totally playable for solo adventurers, there will not be any form of offline play available. This means that those going it alone will still be beholden unto the rigors of PvP combat, and this may not be everyone's forte. While Bethesda is certainly allowed to make whatever sort of game they choose, for some, it would be nice to experience the story without all of this added nonsense.
Online only video game experiences have been around since the dawn of the internet itself, but that doesn't mean that they are always guaranteed to be successful. What's worse is that, depending on their popularity, their servers tend to be deactivated should the publisher lose interest in maintaining them.
Many will argue that Bethesda will keep their game up for as long as possible, but that remains to be seen. If the experience is wholly reliant on online play, this could fundamentally muddle with the tried-and-true Fallout experience and leave consumers with a shell of a game entirely subject to player base volatility and internet speeds.
