Fallout 76: 9 Big Questions We Still Have
1. What Will Happen To Creation Club/Mods?
Bethesda have confirmed they are completely committed to mod support for the game. This is no surprise, since that's the reason about 90% of the players play the game, but it's a little difficult to determine what this statement means.
Given that the game is meant to be played online, a modded playthrough means other players would need each mod - or it could hugely unbalance a world. Bethesda will need to work out how to incorporate mods into the console releases, as this was a huge problem for Fallout 4. It's all good and well saying they support mods, but in practice it remains to be seen if this actually works for such a different game to prior Fallouts.
There's also a bit of confusion regarding Creation Club, where you can buy mods made by professional modders that Bethesda hires. Previously it's released a variety of mods, from skins to actual weapons and areas, so there's a lot of potential for Creation Club mods - but it comes with the same problems as normal mods.
In addition, people might not be too willing to pay for them, given the high price of CC mods for Fallout 4.
In fact, some rumors suggest that the only mods for the game will be paid ones - in a way, that's basically DLC, since it's regulated and controlled by Bethesda. Let's hope the players and casual modders get the freedom that is required to make and enjoy mods without too much limitation.
