Fallout London: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

3. A New Point Of View

Up until now the stories we've heard from the Fallout universe have come almost exclusively from those living in the American wasteland.

With the exception of a Mexican Ghoul and one memorable trip to a Chinese submarine, we've rarely seen or heard any accounts of the Great War that wasn't from the word of an American.

Seeing this world from outside America for the first time opens up the chance for a fantastic new point of view. How did the UK react to America's annexation of Canada, a nation that still held Queen Elizabeth II as their head of state?

How did their own government react to the resource war and the violent breakdown of the European Commonwealth?

With the opportunity to delve the lore of this version of the United Kingdom, we have the chance to gain a whole new perspective on the Fallout world.

My passion for all things Sci Fi goes back to my earliest days, when old VHS copies of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet gripped my tiny mind with their big, noisy vehicles and terrifying puppets. I'd like to say my taste got more refined over the years, but between the Warhammer, Space Dandy and niche Star Wars EU books, perhaps it just got broader. I've enjoyed games of all calibre since I figured out that dice weren't just for eating, and have written prose ever since I was left unsupervised with some crayons next to a white wall. I got away with it by calling it "schoolwork" for as long as I could, and university helped me keep the charade going a while longer. Since my work began to get published, it's made all those long hours repainting the walls seem worth it.
