Fallout: New Vegas - 10 Things Nobody Admits It Did Better Than 3
3. Companion Missions
Taking a leaf out of Bioware's book, the various different companions you came across during the course of New Vegas all came with their own character-specific quests. Unlike the third game, Obsidian's decision to dedicate missions to the people you could recruit to your aid actually made them feel like living, breathing people instead of just another gun at your side. It helped that the quests were enjoyable too, of course, with each one taking you through every character's back-story and current motivations, really allowing you the chance to get a glimpse of how the people in this world function. Even better, often these specific missions would interact with other, separate quests you'd stumble across during your time in the Mojave, making it feel like the world of New Vegas was actually an interconnected place, and not just a location comprised of hundreds of disparate instances.
