One of the big, big developments in Far Cry 4 is that you can come under attack from literally anywhere. Not only do you need to watch your back but you need to check there's nobody camped out in a little spot in the chasm to your side, ready to deliver a sniper bullet right to your brain, there's also the ever-present threat of an avalanche that could crush you like a twig. Thankfully, the game has you well equipped for all these eventualities, and plenty more besides. Not only have they added the wingsuit and parachute seemingly from the get-go, but a crucial new part of your inventory is a grappling hook which lets you traverse the unstable terrain of the Himalayan mountain setting. Along with being able to swing over precarious drops Indiana Jones-style, the grapple also lets you climb up to hidden temples to engage in a bit of tomb exploration, which is a welcome addition considering the amount of enticing architecture on display. The combat's been given an upgrade in a few areas too. Most important is probably the ability to drive and shoot simultaneously, saving you the arduous task in previous games where you had to get ahead of your enemies, park up, hop out, and hope you have enough time to get a few shots off before they fly past or plow straight into you. What looks even more fun though, is the ability to kick things Bulletstorm-style. You can kick pretty much anything, but most impressive in the gameplay trailer was the prospect of attaching explosives to oil barrels before booting them off roofs and watching the mayhem unfold below. That's the most important takeaway of everything we learned about Far Cry 4 at E3, although let's be honest there will be more mayhem than ever - and it's going to be glorious. What did you guys think of the reveal? Are you ready for more Far Cry this year? Let us know in the comments!
