Far Cry 6: 10 Reasons The Haters Are Wrong

7. You Feel Like Part Of A Larger Conflict

The previous Far Cry titles have generally had others who were opposing the same enemy as you. As you journeyed through the map, you could see small encounters that you could either ignore or help with, adding some background flavour.

FC6, however, clearly makes Dani part of the bigger struggle via some base-building in that you can utilise three guerrilla basecamps, then add extras.

One extra is Guerrilla Garrison. As you build and upgrade your Garrison, guerrillas who are out in the world waiting for you to help them ambush enemy camps or take over roadblocks will be better armed and waiting with intel on the large Yaran bases across the map.

The other is the Bandidos Barracks. The Barracks let you take on a series of interesting text-based missions where you accept a mission, pick one of a cadre of leaders based on their experiences and bonuses, and start the timer for your team to assemble.

When the team is ready, you play what is basically a version of Choose Your Own Adventure; you're presented with three options for each step of the missions, all of which have odds to succeed. The higher the odds, the better the ultimate rewards.

These new touches help with the feeling that there are others out there fighting alongside you, taking advantage of your expertise and guidance. You're more of a leader than a one-person war machine.
