Far Cry 6: 10 Reasons The Haters Are Wrong
6. Yaran Enemy Forces
Previous games in the Far Cry series have had some interesting enemies - mercenaries, pirates, smugglers, zealots, mutants...you get the drift, you weren't exactly fighting the best of the best.
FC6, however, turns that formula on its head. Because you are taking on an actual government, not a cult or crime lord, there are actual trained, organized, and equipped enemies on the other end of your scope.
Enemy commanders have the AI to call in reinforcements, air support, and airstrikes, so when you think you've found a nice little sniping nest, you're out of luck. Enemy medics will move around the area, reviving wounded soldiers, and engineers will set up automatic turrets that track you. There are still classes (rifle, explosives, flamethrower), but creating some specialties gives you the ability to prioritize targets and get rid of extra bodies that will quickly start crowding you.
The Yaran army also has lots of heavy equipment to throw at you. In addition to the above-noted turrets, you'll also square off against heavy trucks, a couple different kinds of SUVs (including an armoured version,) combat choppers, and, in a first for Far Cry, tanks. All of these vehicles can be found and/or hijacked in the game and used by Dani.
In a neat design idea, most vehicles and weapons the enemy forces use are '50s/'60s era, reflecting the fact that Yara has been cut off from most of the world since then.
