What Your Favourite Final Fantasy Game Says About You

2. Final Fantasy XIII Series

Final Fantasy Xiii I could go over XIII for ages. We all know what it was. It was a long slog through the most linear Final Fantasy game ever. Most of the characters were annoying, the battle systems was a bit hands-off for the most part and the sense of exploration in a Final Fantasy game was all but eradicated until around 40 hours in (and even then it was limited in scope). XII-2 was better, but still by no means as good as the glory days of Final Fantasy. It had more to do and more to see, but the storyline was utterly and totally baffling. Lightning Returns, out next year, is set to close off the trilogy that no one actually really wanted. Admittedly it looks pretty good, but so did XIII and XIII-2. If you like either of these titles so far, you've a controversial individual who wanted more out of Final Fantasy. You didn't like the old style games, instead preferring to be walked along a clear path and not struggle through the grind of previous titles. That's fair enough, but just watch out for those who didn't like XIII. They may have buster swords.

1. Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy Xiv Phew, you must be the forgiving type. The old saying that you can't polish a turd was proven wrong by Square Enix this year when they re-released Final Fantasy XIV as a Realm Reborn, and everyone seemed to love it. Another MMO just like XI, XIV was originally a disastrous attempt at catching the MMO market's attention. It was poorly implemented, not fun to play and turned a lot of people off. Instead of just rolling over and letting it die, Square Enix then decided to completely revamp the game from the ground up, and began to recapture the magic of Final Fantasy once more. Let's just hope that the same applies to Final Fantasy XV when it eventually comes out! Which is your favourite Final Fantasy title? Let us know why you love it so much in the snazzy comments box below.
