FIFA 13: 4 Improvements That Should Be Made To Manager Mode

3. Better Choice of Club

One of the stranger decisions by EA over the previous editions of FIFA is the choice to limit the teams you can move to at the end of the season. They have already confirmed that teams will come to you during the season, rather than just at the end €“ which is certainly an improvement. On FIFA 12 I finished a season at Barcelona and only four teams offered me work; Real Madrid, Wigan, Sevilla and Bilbao. Basically I was forced to either stay in the same country €“ which I didn€™t want to do €“ or move to Wigan, which would have been strange considering I€™d just won the Champions League. It seems strange to restrict the movement of managers like that. It seems even stranger to offer up those choices. The jobs offered need to be based on how well the respective team have been doing. If Chelsea were seventh midway through a season and my mid-table team were first it would then make more sense and create a dilemma if they offered me the position. Do I stay at my club and maybe win the league or join Chelsea; a rich team who may not offer me the position again? At the end of the season at least two teams representing each nation should make an offer; obviously depending on how well you did. The teams who offer should be clubs who have had poor seasons. That€™s how managers move clubs in real football.
