FIFA 14: 10 Nations You Won't Believe Aren't On The Game

2. Japan

We've mentioned before that the Asian continent is criminally underrepresented on the FIFA games and by far the notable absence of all of those nations is Japan, who have qualified for every World Cup tournament since 1998- reaching the knock-out stage twice. The Far East gives EA a brilliant area of revenue to cash in on and they could easily promote the game to new heights with the inclusion of the Japanese national team, perhaps featuring Shinji Kagawa on their edition of the game. However, EA are yet to cash-in on the potential area of profit, which is surprising given the absurd prices they charge for downloadable content. Champions at four Asian Cups, consistent qualification for the World Cup tournaments, an excellent performance at the Confederations Cup, a decent FIFA ranking and a squad full of great players (Keisuke Honda anyone?) shows they're more than capable of mixing it in the game's top echelons. Why Japan aren't in FIFA 14 we will never know.
