FIFA 14: 5 Classic Forgotten Features We'd Love To See Return

3. "Dirty Tackle Button"

fifared Ah yes, the fabled "dirty tackle button", "hack button", "cheat button", or whatever it was you and your friends used to refer to it as back on FIFA 2001 when this somewhat dubious gameplay feature first made its appearance in the franchise. By pressing the "R1" button on the PlayStation console, the player could commit an intentional, bone-snapping lunge on an opponent and slide in with a waist-high studs up hack Roy Keane style. Of course, more often than not, this resulted in a straight red card, but it was still hilarious. You might be wondering why such a feature should be brought back to the series - well, for a start, for fun. Much like the aforementioned snow feature, I'd like to see the "dirty tackle button" return in some capacity - be it limited to exhibition mode, that's fine by me - and secondly, because of realism. Yes, bad, professional fouls do actually happen in the real world of football. FIFA don't have to condone them by bringing this feature back, they merely have to replicate that fact.
