3. Ability To Use Both Legacy AND Tactical Defending
If, like me, the new tactical defending mode in the FIFA series causes you to lose sleep and tear your hair out in big clumps while sat in front of the TV screen crying, then you may agree with me that we're all very glad EA retained the time-honoured Legacy Defending Mode, where the computer does all the hard work for you and you merely have to press square to tackle. When playing under the influence of Tactical Defending, my positioning is worse than Patrice Evra's. (For non-football fans, that's some pretty bad positioning right there). I become inept at the back and end up being crushed 7-0. No problem, right, when you can just change it back to Legacy. Ah but therein lies the problem. You see, when playing FIFA online or with a friend in co-op, you can only use one or the other. This is particularly irksome when one of you prefer Legacy and the other wants to use Tactical Defence. FIFA 14 really needs to allow us to use both in such instances. It doesn't seem as though it'd be that difficult to implement, either. All we'd have to do is change our individual control settings as though we would when choosing our control configuration. This is something EA really need to look at. Or in failing that, get rid of Tactical Defending. That'd be good.
