FIFA 14 New Gameplay Trailer: 5 Key Things We Learned

1. EA Are Finally Doing Something New

We just want to take this opportunity to commend EA on finally taking the FIFA series to places it hasn't been too before. Critics of the game are always ready to point out that every year, the developers merely give us a near-carbon-copy version of last year's game except with new kits and a bit of added sparkle and to be fair, they have a point. FIFA 13 really wasn't too far removed from FIFA 12 in all honesty and many flaws weren't improved upon. This year however, FIFA is a brand new beast and we can't help get the feeling that it's going to transform the way we play and think about football games. Already we've seen a ton of new features that have already improved the franchise tenfold and we owe next generation consoles a lot for that. With EA taking FIFA to the next generation of video gaming, they had to make certain changes to keep the series fresh and features such as "real ball mechanics" which makes striking the ball more realistic and no two shots ever the same will make playing the game fresh and unpredictable again. The graphics also look superb. Did anyone else see blades of grass fly off the pitch when Iniesta dinked that pass to neymar with the outside of his foot? It's tiny little things like this that are going to make FIFA great again and we have to commend EA for that. What did you learn from the new FIFA 14 gameplay video? Are you excited about the game's new features? Let us know in the comment section, below.
