5. Better AI Intelligence
EA certainly know how to dress up very ordinary phrases and make them sound new and exciting. One such example of this is a new feature implemented in FIFA 14 called "Teammate Intelligence", which is basically the developer's way of saying the AI will be a bit smarter than before. In the trailer, we saw some of this in action. For example, toward the end, we see Daniel De Rossi heading a goal-bound chip over the despairing dive of the goalkeeper off the line and out to safety. said of this feature:
"Players will have better decision-making and teams will play smarter on both the attack and defense to bring the beauty of the game to life."
The AI will also position themselves better so that there are no longer gaping holes in the middle of the pitch. In FIFA 13, one of the easiest ways to score a goal was to send in a lobbed through ball which would invariably cut the defence to ribbons and tee up your striker one-on-one with the keeper for an easy goal. That will no longer be a possibility in FIFA 14 thanks to this new mechanic.
