4. More Realistic Player Movements
One of the biggest new features to grace FIFA 14, and one that is adequately demonstrated in the trailer and the above still, is a brand new featured known as "precision movement", another fancy phrase that, when deconstructed, simply means players will now behave like real-life athletes. In games gone by, players could perform some reality-defying movements, and turn a defender as though it were nothing. This made for unrealistic gameplay but here, you can see EA have fixed this aspect of the game. This is Messi trying to keep the ball in play after receiving a bit of a dodgy pass on the touchline. Instead of the Argentinian effortlessly collecting the ball, he appears to lose his footing and slip on the turf - for even the world's greatest player isn't flawless - before recovering his composure and rescuing possession of the ball (okay, maybe he is). This is a feature we love - it will improve the realism of the game to no end and with players now actually behaving like real athletes, will bring us closer to the beautiful game than ever before.
