FIFA 15: 10 Features We Can Expect To See Transferred From 2014 World Cup Game
8. Set Piece Tactics
In previous editions of FIFA set pieces have become rather drab, and can be both incredibly frustrating and lacking in actual benefits, which is unfortunate considering the amount of times you have to cope with them and how important they are in the real world of football. Fortunately, EA have identified where they've gone wrong in the past and have now improved the system. In the new system you can direct your players to make runs to the near or far post, crowd the goalkeeper or lurk on the edge of the box- simply by using the D-pad on your controller. The changes also affect the defending side, as goalkeepers will command their teammates to mark the opposition and defenders will react to the movement the attackers make. The changes will ensure that there is a variety to set pieces, rather than just pumping the ball into the box and hoping that your player gets on the end of it. Now we'll be required to think about what we are doing and work out a method that works well for each of us.
