FIFA 15: 10 Features We Can Expect To See Transferred From 2014 World Cup Game

6. New Penalties

Over the past few years we've seen a lot of improvements for penalty kicks and EA aren't finished yet, as they are set to introduce new improvements for the World Cup game. They've added new shooting and save animations, as well as giving you the ability to try and put off your opponent with goalkeeper motions - including Bruce Grobbelaar's famous wobbly knees. A penalty awarded during a match will now involve players lurking on the edge of the area to react if the kick is saved, rather than in previous additions where if you missed your chance was pretty much over. Penalty shoot-outs will now be far more interesting as they will become harder and have numerous different outcomes. The improvements to penalties in the past were welcomed, but there are still problems: your keeper will rarely save with anything other than his hands and there seems to be no consistency as at times the keeper will allow the ball to pass straight past him when diving the right way, but then pull off a world-class save to deny a top corner effort from the next spot kick. Hopefully the new penalty system will erase these errors.
