A significant but entirely justified rating hike for the most prominent and important of Chelsea's summer signings, reflecting Costa's rapid ascension to becoming one of the most sought-after strikers in world football. The departure of Falcao from Atletico Madrid last summer saw Costa take centre stage, elevating his goal return from an already impressive 20 in 2012/13 to a staggering 36 in 2013/14. His strength and running off the ball are truly outstanding, made absolutely devastating by his clinical finishing once in the right position. Costa's rating of 83 in FIFA 14 is a far cry from the player he would become over the course of the season and a debut goal for Chelsea against Burnley, not to mention his two in the pre-season game against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge six days earlier, suggests Mourinho has chosen wisely in his hunt for a prolific striker to lead his line. Better yet, at 25, there's plenty of room for Costa to improve while taking the step up to a faster and more aggressive league. He'll almost certainly prove an exceptional asset for any player choosing Chelsea for their FIFA 15 team and it could even be argued that his rumoured rating of 86 is a smidge too low after the season he's just had. Under Drogba's tutelage, Costa has all the talent to become heir to the Ivorian's throne as one of Chelsea's all-time greats and fire them to Premier League and European success. The only downside is a mixed injury record, which saw his hamstrings give him a few problems last season, but Mourinho's distinguished medical staff should be able to keep his star striker the best chance of replicating his exceptional Atletico form. An excellent all-round striker, he's one FIFA players will want to get in their side whether managing Chelsea or any major side in the world.
