Wayne Rooney narrowly missed out on a place in this year's top 20 with the Manchester United striker coming in at 23rd in Friday's latest batch of scores. The United marksman has been affixed a rating of 86 in FIFA 15, falling one point from last year's score of 87. The highest scorer in the 30-21 category is 86, indicating Rooney would have made the top 20 if not for his demotion. And we feel said demotion is harsh. Okay, not many United players covered themselves in glory last season as the Red Devils huffed and puffed to a seventh placed finish in the Premier League, but if there was one player who stood out from the underperforming side it was Rooney. Rooney was United's top goalscorer in 2013-14 with 17 goals from 29 appearances and though he had a poor World Cup with England (who didn't), we see no reason to bring him down a peg. The forward is still one of the best in the business and definitely deserves to be among the elite in '15.
