16. Francis Coquelin

Coquelin has previously struggled to get game time at Arsenal, and even admitted that he thought his career was over before Arsene Wenger recalled him from Charlton in December 2014. Since then however, he has been instrumental in Arsenal's recent form, and surprised pretty much everyone.

Ever since his phenomenal performance against Manchester City, Coquelin has improved in every game he has played. He averages 3.5 tackles, 3.8 interceptions, and 3.7 clearances per game, ranking him among the best defensive midfielders in the world right now.

Francis is a rejuvenated player who is loving his football right now, and although he may still have more to prove before he cements his place as the number one choice for a defensive midfielder, he has definitely cemented his place for a upgrade in FIFA 16.
