Towards the more superficial additions to the game, EA have proudly declared that there will be three times as many player animations, aiming to more naturally reflect the nuances of the world's greatest players.

Weve been working a lot on the fluidity of sprint dribbling, McHardy said. We want to make sure we bring back the edge of players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, players who have a lot of pace. Last year we felt we lost the edge of those players, were bringing it back, but we want to do it in a way that we dont break that midfield build-up.

It's been a labour intensive process of digitally capturing the movements and mannerisms of dozens of football's top stars. Everything from their stance, to their kicking and running styles, right down to their facial expressions. They hope to bring more "life" to the game as a whole, with the emotive element of each match better reflected in the experience.

Away from the game's superstars, there's also a shed-load of additional movement animations, with skill moves, tackles and shots all benefitting from a huge increase in variety. Likewise, some of these animations will be exclusive to players of particular skill levels, so the better ones will be reserved for your team's star men.

Oh, and they're promising less bugs in first touches. Thank god.
